MEDIEVAL TOOLS AND WEAPONS!
BY NOAH BAILEY
THE LANCE
The lance is longer than a spear measuring 9-14 feet long! From horse-back the lance could apply tons of damage to
a knight in full armour. Knights often carried a reinforcement just in case they get knocked off their horse because the lance is very slow.
THE SCYTHE
The scythe is a tool in which is used to cut or harvest crops while remain standing. The scythe can also mow tall grass. It is like a old fashion
lawn mower or tractor.
THE MACE
The mace is a blunt weapon. It uses a heavy metal head to deliver maximum damage to the enemies. The mace’s metal head is usually made out of bronze, stone, copper, iron or steel. Longer maces were usually used on horse back and sometimes even had spikes!! The club-like mace is a
fascinating weapon.
THE HAY- MAKING FORK
The wooden hay making fork hay into a product that can be stored easily without ruining the hay. As I mentioned
before, the haymaking fork is usually made out of wood with two or three iron prongs that are designed to shear hay. Haymaking usually
begins in February.

THE FLAIL
by RICHEY
The term flail means a 2 or 1 handed weapon that is swong around. They both are swing around to defend or to attack. The sharp ball on the end can be attached by a rope or chain (it is also a European weapon). The chain on a flail makes the flail ball spin really fast .Some flails are made out of animal bones.
This weapon consists of a hinged bar connected to a longer shaft (see illustration, to the left). The flails come in lots of styles. Over all this is a deadly weapon.

Medieval Times Weapons and Armor
by Jacob
knights armor in the early middle ages was made out of chain mail .Then it got replaced at the end of middle ages by plate armor it gave better, flexibility andbetter protection . The knights most valuable piece of equipment was his horse.
When weapons got better armor got better and when armor got better weapons got better.
When you are wearing chain mail and you get shot with a bow and arrow the tip goes through but it doesn’t kill you. But then crossbows got better and they where called long bows. Only the strongest warriors used the long bow because you had to be strong to stretch it all the way back. So when they stretched it back it went super fast and it went right through the chain mail. So they made plate armor and it would hit it and make a dent and bounce off. This is a cool fact ;swords can’t go through chain mail. If you had a dagger in the middle ages you could stab people where they didn’t have any armor. In the middle ages if I could pick a weapon it would the morning star because it is a bone crushing weapon.

In the Middle Ages there was a lot of bad battles because kings constantly wanted land and in order to get land
they had to fight for it! The first weapons they used were their hands. Then some people thought “hey if we fight with our hands we could break our hands. So then the people attached a rock to a stick and that made a club. Which was way stronger then their hands. Then somebody made a suit of armor made out of deer and cow skin, which protected them from clubs. Next, somebody made a bow and arrow which went right through the cow and deer skin and they died. Since the weapons got better so did the armor so then they came up with chain mail. The bow and arrow did nothing to the chain mail. Then since the armor got better so did the weapons. So next somebody made up the cross bow and that went right through the chain mail so again since weapons got better so did the armor so then they made rounded chain mail. The rounded cain mail blocked the arrows from the cross bow. Thats when they started using the swords as daggers. One of the most famous weapons for knights was the sword because it was in the shape of a cross. Since it was in the shape of a cross they thought god was on their side and in the Middle Ages everyone had daggers because they could use it for everything like eating.
Here is a list of medieval weapons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
flails, swords, daggers, battle axes, bow and arrows, war hammers maces, and tons of other weapons the end
